Yesterday the skinny girl in me ran almost 4 miles. Woo! It was beautiful out and my husband was home on a (lately, its been a rare) day off. I put on my running shoes, left him with the children (they were sleeping-I'm so nice) and went out the door beating the pavement with my Pandora station set to the Pussycat Dolls. I love running outside because all you have to do to keep running is just keep going farther from your house. Then you are stuck so you can't stop. I HAD to run home. The thought of freezing my butt off walking the rest of the way did not seem nice,so I pushed on.
So today the fat girl in me is loooking up recipes for homemade Samoas. You know those delicious girl scout cookies with the caramel and the chocolate that come out every year? Yes, those. I dont want to wait for them, and I hate the idea of paying almost $4.00 a box when only 10% of the proceeds go to their troup anyways. LAME. This is where Pinterest comes in. What is that? What is Pinterest you say? Well,if you have not yet discovered it, you NEED to head on over to Pinterest.com. I am in love. Everything you could want to know about is there, with a million how-tos on how to get it! Anywho - I should be mopping my floor, or finding hair colors for my clients. Or organizing one of my children's rooms in anticipation of our new family members soon to join us. All of those things would be great, but I cannot get these Samoas out of my head. So this is my project today. I will give you further updates (and hopefully pictures!) on how they turn out. Wish me luck!

These are the days of Miracles and Wonder....right?
So today was one of those days that started out rough. It is gloomy and gray and dreary. A day you just want to curl up by yourself and watch movies with a steaming cup of hot tea. I don't allow my kids to watch movies on the weekdays so....that plan was out. Instead they took their energy out by making as much noise as was humanly possible as close to me as possible. Oh,and getting into fights. Augh! I sent them to their rooms to play until I could make myself sane again (cleaning and quiet) and then made it up to them by promising to make valentines cookies together later, and giving them ice cream after lunch. Now that I am writing it down they seem completely spoiled, but let me assure you, the ice cream was more for me at that point. Which brings me to my next point:
I am usually SO good about eating healthy and staying fit, but I get pregnant and my body turns into Jenna Mulroney from 30 Rock in her 'Me Want Food' episode. Even if I start out healthy my day usually ends up with me eating chocolate in bed at 10 p.m. I have no idea where my self-control goes. In my head I picture it hearing the words pregnant; then screaming, and running far far away. Of course, now that it is winter, especially on these gloomy days, all I want to do is bake. It cheers me up. I love making things that everyone (I mean me) loves. My husband gave me the great idea that instead of eating the things I bake, I can take start sending out goodie packages. Which is such a great idea, but are we mom's everywhere having the same thought? I have 2 children under the age of 5, and its winter. I try to avoid going anywhere : 1. That isn't fun for the kids 2. Includes waiting in lines for an extended period of time 3. Isn't really necessary . Which means my usual trips out are the gym, grocery store, visiting, and the mall play area/park. Everything else happens only when I am desperate! So I am stuck at home eating the cookies I bake. Sounds rough huh? ;)

This is it!
I have toyed with the idea of starting a blog for so long, but have never really had the means. With the new year, that all has changed, because thanks to my supportive husband I recieved an IPad for Christmas and can finally start my (hopefully) new passion! I am a little cowed by all the amazing, beautiful, inspirational blogs out there. I can only hope to be as half as good as they are. I am really terrible at understanding anything on the computer that is not facebook,so dont expect anything fancy just yet. Here is what you can expect : I am a hair stylist and cake decorator, so lots of fashion, beauty tips, and delicious recipes (Cakes!) and exercise experiences. Since I plan to use this as a journal you will probably hear a lot of my memories and learning experiences. Of course the biggest part of my life :My children. My husband and I have two beautiful children and are expecting our third child this summer. We also felt called to help children through foster care so if things work well, hopefully in a few months we should have our first foster child. We hope to make that child a permanent part of our family and home. Life can really get crazy sometimes but I hope I can share the stress and the laughter with you, and maybe get some great advice as a bonus. I hope you enjoy my blog!
